One of the promising directions of Potassium Osmate (VI) K2[OsO2(OH)4] based on isotope Osmium-187 (187Os) usage is to use it in gerontology, medical diagnostics, treatment of oncological diseases and creation of drugs.

Results of the researches we made allow to take considerable steps to creation of anticancer drugs. In this regard, we started researches together with the Russian Academy of Sciences, N.N. Petrov Research Institute of Oncology (St. Petersburg), under the direction of the Doctor of Medical Sciences, the Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Sciences V.N. Anisimov and I.P. Pavlov Institute of Physiology (St. Petersburg) under the direction of Dr. Sci. (Biol.) B.V. Krylov.

At the first stage we investigated action mechanisms Potassium Osmate (VI) K2[OsO2(OH)4] based on isotope Osmium-187 (187Os) on processes of proliferation and growth of cells, components of explants of various tissues, research of concentration dependences, definition of a threshold of safe influence of a studied substance on cells of a healthy organism. Already at this stage positive results which can be characterized as scientific breakthrough in medicine are received.

Besides that the material proved to be as a preparation influencing cellular activity and cell regeneration, results of the researches allow to consider a preparation as the highly effective substance possessing versatile biological and pharmacological action, which can to have stimulating/weakening action on processes of synthesis and secretion of pancreas hormones.

At the second stage we plan to research mechanisms of action of Potassium Osmate (VI) K2[OsO2(OH)4] based on isotope Osmium-187 (187Os) on neoplastic transformed cells, determination of operating concentration of a studied substance as possible basis of anticancer medicine of new generation.

In the middle of 2011 we have  submitted the priority demand for obtaining the patent for use of our unique substance as bases for anticancer preparations and the 10-th of July we got a Patent #2455011.
